Could you be the full-time Bid Sub-System Manager (Bid Costing) in Coimbatore we’re looking for?

Your future role

  • Take on a new challenge and apply your tendering and coordination expertise in a new cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dynamic teammates.

Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (such as Bid Managers, Project Sub-System Managers, and Financial Teams), manage tender processes, and contribute to risk mitigation strategies, and much more.

  • You’ll specifically take care of coordinating internal activities to identify and understand customer needs, but also preparing cost structures and maintaining documentation traceability up to contract signature.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Coordinating internal activities to influence customer specifications

  • Preparing quick costing during the pre-tendering phase based on product cost database and project execution experience

  • Ensuring compliance with applicable Alstom rules, instructions, and processes (e.g., Tender Process, Code of Ethics & Compliance, EHS, Railway Safety, Quality)

  • Managing the tender budget according to the Tender Costs Authorization Process

  • Optimizing Quality, Cost, and Delivery (QCD) while obtaining clear commitments from stakeholders

  • Preparing and maintaining updated risk and savings registers, including mitigation plans

  • Leading cost estimation activities and cost improvement actions to meet target prices

  • Consolidating tender costs and selling prices as per financial rules

  • Supporting Project Sub-System Managers in initial financial preparation and project gates

All about you

We value your passion and attitude. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Education: Degree in Engineering

  • Experience: 8 to 12 years in Product Costing experience and good understanding of tendering processes and cost estimation.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies

  • Familiarity with risk management and mitigation planning

  • A certification in project management or finance (e.g., PMP, CFA) is a plus

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
