Job description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling, and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your expertise in Verification & Validation (V&V) to a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside passionate, innovative, and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a pivotal role in defining and driving the V&V strategy across software, cloud, and integrated system environments. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, DevOps, architecture, and program stakeholders, to ensure product quality, compliance, and efficiency. You’ll also lead automation initiatives, establish robust test frameworks, and guide teams on best practices for automation and system-level verification.

You’ll specifically take care of architecting test automation solutions for microservices, APIs, and cloud-native components, but also ensure seamless integration of automation pipelines into CI/CD systems.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Owning and driving the end-to-end V&V strategy, including automation frameworks, manual verification, and system validation

  • Defining and implementing V&V plans and ensuring alignment with development phases, risks, and compliance requirements

  • Architecting scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, performance, and cloud execution

  • Driving testing strategies for Azure Cloud services and Kubernetes-based environments

  • Ensuring traceability from requirements to tests to evidence, guaranteeing audit-readiness for safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory use cases

  • Leading and mentoring V&V automation engineers, fostering technical growth and high performance

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate smooth verification and delivery

  • Driving continuous improvement through process refinements, technology adoption, and return-of-experience analysis

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields

  • Strong expertise in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, Postman) and REST API automation

  • Hands-on knowledge of Azure Cloud, Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS), and Kubernetes concepts

  • Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab) and automation pipelines

  • Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, cloud-native architectures, and distributed systems testing

  • Experience with testing methodologies (SDLC/STLC), V&V processes, and system-level validation

  • Demonstrated ability to lead automation teams and drive V&V initiatives across multiple projects

  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and cross-functional collaboration skills

  • Experience in regulated industries (e.g., rail, medical devices, industrial automation) is a plus

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new security standards for rail signalling

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards leadership roles or specialized technical expertise

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
