About this role:
The Variable Compensation Care Team Assistant Manager will work as a player/coach, leading a team of Specialists as well as owning their own individual workload. This role is responsible for coaching and mentoring the team focused on the administration of worldwide Sales, Consulting, Conferences, and Specialist Compensation Plans, as well as overseeing a remote, multi-channel support center that handles employee inquiries concerning compensation. The Assistant Manager will act as a subject matter expert (SME) within the end-to-end compensation process, maintain the highest standards and procedures, and drive continuous improvement in people, process, and technology.
What you will do:
Lead, mentor, and coach a team of Specialists, supporting their individual workloads and professional growth
Monitor and oversee the day-to-day activities of a remote multi-channel (ticket, email, chat, phone) support center handling compensation inquiries
Provide individualized coaching related to team members’ workloads, including Variable Compensation policies, processes, and technology
Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Territory Management, Territory Planning & Analysis, Sales Leadership, Sales Finance, Payroll, Accounting, and Audit
Act as the SME for assigned work streams and projects, interpreting compensation plans and rules for complex or conflicting situations
Guarantee the accuracy of all agreed quota assignments, system uploads, earnings calculations, and awards attainment
Manage ongoing tasks such as earnings calculations, payment reviews, validations, and reconciliations
Collect and analyze support center statistics (Daily/Weekly/Monthly/Annual) to assist management in setting performance standards (quality, volume, customer satisfaction, root cause analysis)
Ensure team is trained and current on all processes, compensation plans, quota rules, territory rules, and tools; confirm documentation is updated and accurate
Assist in training and onboarding initiatives; observe and support staff to ensure a thorough understanding of processes
Prepare ad-hoc analysis and reporting as needed
Analyze and communicate complex sales data, including both quota and performance, to various internal clients
Advocate open communication and share ideas for enhancements and improvements
What you will need:
3 years in Specialist/Analyst role or relevant role with demonstrated leadership skills
2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint, Access); SQL is a plus
Proven track record of driving changes in the areas of people, process, and technology
Ability to efficiently gather data, perform quantitative and qualitative data analysis, and succinctly communicate analyses in a language understood by business leaders across multiple disciplines within an organization
Excellent problem solving and project management skills
Ability to adapt to a constantly changing environment
Experience documenting and improving business processes
Prior experience in utilizing CRM systems and metrics in a supervisory capacity is preferred
Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer service skills
