Associate - Transport Planner

Responsibilities

• Project Delivery: Lead and support the delivery of a diverse portfolio of transport planning projects, including transport strategies, Local Plans, business cases, scheme appraisals, transport assessments, and feasibility studies, in line with UK guidance and client requirements.

  
  

• Technical Oversight: Provide subject matter expertise in transport planning policy, scheme appraisal and technical analysis. 

  
  

• Quality Assurance: Oversee and review deliverables from junior staff, ensuring alignment with project objectives, technical standards, and client expectations.

  
  

• Design & Appraisal: Take a lead in the development, appraisal, and evaluation of transport schemes in line with relevant national and local policy and design guidance.

  
  

• Collaboration & Communication: Act as a key point of contact between the UK and India teams, helping to manage workflows, monitor progress, and communicate expectations. Also collaborating with our Future Mobility, Digital, Mobility Data Analytics and Net Zero teams on Future Ready initiatives like Mobility Hubs, EV strategies and First/Last Mile Studies.

  
  

• Delegation & Task Management: Effectively manage and check delegated tasks, providing structured feedback and ensuring timely delivery to agreed standards.

  
  

• Mentorship & Upskilling: Play a proactive role in the professional development of junior colleagues, offering technical guidance, coaching, and day-to-day support to help them build core transport planning competencies.
