Role Description:


The Associate Software Engineer Operations is responsible for maintaining software applications and solutions that meet business needs and ensuring the availability and performance of critical systems and applications. This role involves working closely with product managers, developers, and senior engineers to create and maintain high-quality, scalable software solutions and automating operations, monitoring system health, and responding to incidents to minimize downtime.


You will be part of a team specifically focusing on Global CRM and Marketing capabilities. Amgen is using fully integrated and best in class technologies, having Salesforce.com as core architecture & relying on business capabilities enablers such as Veeva CRM, Veeva Vault, Salesforce Marketing Cloud.


Roles & Responsibilities:


  • Support operational maintenance and enhancements for Veeva CRM/Salesforce applications and modules
  • Assist with configuration, troubleshooting, and development activities related to incidents, service requests, and user stories
  • Support issue resolution by troubleshooting and resolving technical and production support issues under guidance from senior team members
  • Investigate software defects and contribute to implementing solutions to address business needs
  • Assist with integrations between enterprise systems to support reliable functionality and data flow
  • Create and maintain operational, configuration, and support documentation
  • Support application monitoring and maintenance activities to ensure system performance and availability
  • Contribute to front-end and back-end support activities within Veeva CRM/Salesforce environments
  • Participate in unit testing, integration testing, and validation activities to ensure application quality
  • Support CI/CD and DevOps practices using tools such as Git, Jenkins, and Copado
  • Follow established standards for system quality, testing, and support best practices
  • Collaborate with development, business, and cross-functional teams to support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Demonstrate willingness to learn new technologies and contribute to solution development activities

Minimum requirements


  • Master’s degree with 2-6 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of programming languages Visual Force, Apex, SQL, Java
  • Foundational understanding of software development principles and system integration concepts
  • Exposure to DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, or Copado
  • Basic understanding of Salesforce or Veeva CRM platforms
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum software development methodologies
  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work effectively in global and virtual teams

Preferred requirements


  • Salesforce, Veeva CRM, or related certifications are a plus
  • Understanding of release management and deployment processes
  • Exposure to test automation concepts
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments
  • High degree of initiative and self-motivation
