Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. As a standalone company, the Mobility business will be more focused and agile, creating exciting opportunities for employees to grow, innovate, and help shape the future of mobility. The separation reflects strong confidence in the Mobility team and positions the new company as an employer of choice in the automotive and commercial vehicle industry.
The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.
Requirement of this position is to perform testing and provide assistance to engineering personnel to setup, install and on-time completion of product testing in accordance with specific test procedures as defined by the product engineering function at Mobility Group engineering divisions globally. The position requires to:
a) Perform test setups in completion of specific and standard test processes for Mobility products eg. Differential/ Clutch etc
b) Complete test requests according to specified test requests with minimal down time
c) Implementation of corrective action to test setups as required by established lab procedures or test requests, or when performance falls below acceptable limits
d) Communicate test progress with engineering appropriately to clarify purpose of testing and the results of ongoing tests
e) Take ownership of small projects, develop custom fixtures & continuously improve skill set
f) Maintain close liaison with other technicians to standardize lab practices within group and with other groups in facility to ensure a safe working environment
g) Maintain close liaison with other technicians to standardize lab practices within product group and with other groups to complete test requests with a high degree of quality and efficiency
h) Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the test lab.
i) Participate & or implement continuous improvement/ best practices in lab
j) Strive to meet test lab performance targets established in balanced score card and ensure
Operate and support test facilities, including:
Basic understanding of automotive differential systems (gears, housings, axle shafts, bearings, engagement mechanisms)
Working knowledge of Transmission, Driveline, and Axle components for LD/MD applications
Awareness of test software and tools (FAMOS, i‑Test, or equivalent preferred)
Ability to diagnose mechanical issues such as gear wear, misalignment, backlash, and bearing failures
Execute test requests as specified, ensuring minimal downtime
Implement corrective actions to test setups per lab procedures or when performance falls below acceptable limits
Communicate test status and results with engineering teams to clarify test objectives and outcomes
Take ownership of small projects, including development of custom fixtures and continuous skill enhancement
Collaborate closely with technicians to standardize lab practices across product and facility groups
Ensure high-quality, efficient test execution while maintaining a clean and safe test lab environment
Participate in and implement continuous improvement and best practices
Meet lab performance targets, ensuring compliance with ISO/IATF standards
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering with min. 1-2 yrs automotive industry experience.
• Hands-on experience in Automotive R&D testing in Mechanical domain is essential.
• Product knowledge- Clutch, Transmission/ Gearbox/ driveline products etc
• Hand-on Assembly/ Disassembly of Differential & other automotive products.
• Hands on experience on operating teststands like Rotary/ Linear Fatigue/ Linear Load frame & similar
• Awareness and experience in working safety
• Clear understanding about sensors, electronic components of DAQ & software’s like Canape/ LabVIEW/ PUMA/C-sharp etc will be added advantage
Preferred / Additional specialized knowledge
• Understanding of Problem-solving tools
• Knowledge of ISO17025 & IATF 16469 standards.
• Experience with Systems engineering tools – ENOVIA, JIRA
