POSITION OVERVIEW:


Reporting to the Director, Reinsurance Operations, this position supports the onboarding of reinsurance cedents and execution of contract obligations.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Develop, refine, and execute streamlined operational processes to ensure timely and accurate settlement of reinsurance treaties, including profit settlements and collateral obligations.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly deliverables in line with reinsurance treaties and other relevant agreements.
  • Participate in process improvements and automation projects, as required.
  • Support strong operational controls environment.
  • Coordinate broker fee calculations and invoicing as required.
  • Prepare asset roll forwards to assist with deal analysis.
  • Coordinate with financial reporting teams to clear operational/reinsurance suspense balances.
  • Monitor and track timely delivery and receipt of contractual deliverables outlined in reinsurance treaties and other agreements.
  • Upload reinsurance cash flows to treasury system to help facilitate liquidity management consistent with treaty terms.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis and projects as required.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor’s degree, plus a U.S. Certified Public Accounting (CPA) qualification or equivalent to the U.S. CPA supplemented by a minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience.
  • A minimum of two (5) years’ experience with accounting and operations for U.S. reinsurance business.
  • Experience with US STAT for reinsurance/insurance is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and advanced analytical spreadsheet skills essential.
  • Demonstrated initiative with excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime when required to meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated values of collaboration, ownership, and results delivery.
