Job description

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer with a passion for industrial data and analytics. This role focuses on developing robust data pipelines and analytics solutions for time-series data generated from heating, refrigeration, and process equipment. You will play a key role in transforming raw industrial data into actionable insights, supporting digital product development and operational excellence.

Responsibilities / Tasks


  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines (batch & streaming) with a focus on time-series data from heating, refrigeration, and process equipment


  • Develop and operationalize advanced analytics workflows by integrating data from multiple industrial and enterprise sources


  • Work closely with Data Analysts and Digital Product teams to enable data-driven product features and insights


  • Contribute to and enhance the GEA Cloud Analytics Platform in collaboration with the Digital Hub


  • Ensure high data quality, reliability, and performance across pipelines and platforms


  • Apply modern software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, code reviews)


  • Actively participate in the Data Engineering / Data Science Guild to drive knowledge sharing and standardization


  • Build reusable, modular, and efficient data solutions using state-of-the-art tools


Your Profile / Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field


  • 2–5 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles


  • Strong experience in building robust and scalable data pipelines


  • Hands-on experience with Spark / Databricks or similar big data frameworks


  • Strong programming skills in Python and SQL


  • Experience handling time-series data, industrial IoT, or real-time analytics (highly preferred)


  • Understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data architecture


  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and collaborative development


  • Strong communication skills with fluency in English
