Assistant Transport Planner

The Planner - Transportation Planning at iCRC will be responsible for developing and implementing effective transportation plans to enhance mobility and accessibility within the designated regions. This role involves analyzing transportation systems, forecasting future needs, and recommending improvements to optimize efficiency and safety. The planner will work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including local governments, community organizations, and transportation agencies, to ensure that transportation initiatives align with overall urban development goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct transportation studies and assessments to identify current demands and future trends.

- Develop and evaluate transportation models to assess the effectiveness of different planning scenarios.

- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

- Collaborate with engineering teams to design transportation facilities and infrastructure improvements.

- Engage with community members to gather input and ensure that transportation plans meet the needs of all users.

- Experience in Urban Design with a specialised degree in Architecture and Urban Design is preferred..

- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in transportation planning.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess complex transportation issues.

-Familiar with transport modelling softwares like Linsig and Junctions10 and working knowledge on Adobe softwares.

-Proficient in transportation modeling software and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration and stakeholder engagement.

- Knowledge of transportation planning principles, policies, and regulatory frameworks.

- Familiarity with project management tools and techniques.

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and Master’s in Urban Planning, or a related field.

- Experience in public transportation planning, traffic engineering, or related areas.

- Knowledge of data analysis and visualization tools.

- Participation in professional organizations related to transportation planning is a plus.
