About the Role


The Assistant Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales of school books and LMS (Learning Management System) by promoting products, building strong customer relationships, and expanding market reach. This role requires a results-driven professional with strong communication and negotiation skills, and a passion for the academic publishing industry.


Key Responsibilities


  • Promote and position school books and LMS within targeted schools.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing customers to ensure repeat business.
  • Identify and engage potential customers to drive market penetration.
  • Negotiate terms of agreements and close sales through channel distribution partners.
  • Ensure achievement of sales targets, revenue goals, and timely collections.

Key Relationships:


  • Collaborate closely with Regional Sales Teams.
  • Build and sustain strong connections with clients and channel partners.

Experience, Skills, and Qualifications


Experience:


  • 3–7 years of relevant sales experience.
  • Preference for candidates with prior exposure to the School Academic Publishing industry.

Qualifications and Prerequisites:


  • Minimum graduate degree; professional qualification/diploma in Marketing Management preferred.
  • Willingness and openness to travel extensively as required.

Interpersonal Skills & Competencies:


  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present and persuade effectively.
  • Proven marketing and selling abilities with high enthusiasm and drive.
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand the academic publishing market and product portfolio.
  • Skilled in relationship building and customer engagement.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving sales and revenue targets.
