Job description

Amazon.com, Inc. is a U.S. based multinational e-commerce company headquartered in Seattle, Washington. Founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994 and launched online in 1995, Amazon began as an online bookstore and rapidly expanded into a broad range of product categories, including digital media, electronics, apparel, furniture, grocery and everyday essentials.
At Amazon, our mission is to be the most customer-centric company on Earth. Achieving this requires exceptionally talented, driven and customer-obsessed leaders. As one of the world’s most recognizable brands, Amazon distributes millions of products annually to customers who rely on speed, quality, and reliability.
Amazon is seeking an Area Manager to lead operations across Quick Commerce Hubs (Dry Grocery and Perishable). The Area Manager will consistently focus on four core pillars of safety, quality, customer experience and productivity. This role owns end-to-end responsibility for hub operations, including budgets, people development, third-party logistics (3PL) management and operational performance. The Area Manager ensures 3PL partner meets defined operational SLAs across inbound, outbound, ICQA, and FC Dock functions. Additional responsibilities include leading and developing a team of third-party Area Managers and Team Leads, coaching and mentoring leaders to achieve performance objectives, fostering positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength within the hub.
The Area Manager plans staffing and work schedules, leads quality and process improvement initiatives, and drives change programs to ensure the hub meets business targets. The role sets clear expectations for 3PL partners, tracks performance, provides feedback, and holds partners accountable for results.
This position also ensures best practices are proactively identified and shared across departments, shifts, and the broader network. The Area Manager works closely with cross-functional 3PL support teams including HR, Finance, Facilities, Security & Loss Prevention, IT and Operations leadership, to secure resources, deliver projects, and support broader operational initiatives.
The role requires the ability to effectively resolve operational and people-related issues impacting assigned functional areas.
This role will be based in Chennai outskirts only.
