In this role, you'll work in one of our IBM Consulting Client Innovation Centers (Delivery Centers), where we deliver deep technical and industry expertise to a wide range of public and private sector clients around the world. Our delivery centers offer our clients locally based skills and technical expertise to drive innovation and adoption of new technology.

Your role and responsibilities

• As an Application Developer specializing in System i, you will design and develop solutions on the System i (AS/400) environment, leveraging expertise in various AS/400 products. You will execute proof-of-concepts and develop solution designs and estimates for System i platform projects. Your primary responsibilities will include:
• Develop Solution Designs: Design and develop solutions on the System i (AS/400) environment, utilizing expertise in a wide range of AS/400 products, including RPG, COBOL/400, SYNON, and new age offerings on the platform.
• Execute Proof-of-Concepts: Execute proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to test and validate solution designs and identify potential issues.
• Create Solution Estimates: Develop solution designs and estimates for System i platform projects, considering factors such as complexity, resource requirements, and timelines.
• Apply Technical Expertise: Utilize technical expertise in AS/400 products to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project requirements.
• Deliver Solution Implementations: Implement designed solutions on the System i (AS/400) environment, ensuring timely and effective delivery.

• System i Solution Development: Experience working with solution designs and development on the System i (AS/400) environment, with the ability to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project requirements.
• Proof-of-Concept Execution: Exposure to executing proof-of-concepts (PoCs) to test and validate solution designs and identify potential issues.
• Solution Estimation: Experience working with solution designs and estimates for System i platform projects, considering factors such as complexity, resource requirements, and timelines.
• Technical Implementation: Exposure to implementing designed solutions on the System i (AS/400) environment, ensuring timely and effective delivery.

Preferred technical and professional experience

* Advanced AS/400 Product Knowledge: Exposure to utilizing expertise in a wide range of AS/400 products, including RPG, COBOL/400, SYNON, and new age offerings on the platform, to design and develop solutions. * System i Solution Architecture: Experience working with solution designs and development on the System i (AS/400) environment, with the ability to deliver high-quality solutions that meet project requirements. * Complex Solution Estimation: Exposure to developing solution designs and estimates for complex System i platform projects, considering factors such as complexity, resource requirements, and timelines.
