As a SW development engineer in the Identity & Biometrics Systems R&D you will contribute to fulfilling the marketing vision of governmental services based on secure electronic documents and electronic identity. You will be exposed to secure documents (passports, ID cards), biometric devices, mobile handset devices, cryptography, online transactions and digital identity management. You will learn which principles are making the modern e-government a reality.
As a member of our team, you will contribute to development of key products and components which are then used by other Thales CDI teams to deliver tailor-made solutions to governments and citizens all around the globe.
Our mobile application development is focused mainly on verification of digital documents, reading of physical documents and other mechanisms of proving identities. We rely on Thales CDI experience with digital security and bring it to mobile world.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain high-quality Android Software Development Kits in both Java and Kotlin languages.
Put security at the center of the development process, making sure the output abides by Thales Security requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
Write clean, maintainable and secure code and participate in code reviews.
Debug and resolve issues in existing applications.
Stay updated on the latest Android development trends and technologies.
Optimize application performance and scalability.
Understand and implement the updates on different standards related to Digital and Physical Documents.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
Proven experience as an Android Developer or similar role.
Proficient in Java/Kotlin and Android SDK.
Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect applications to back-end services.
Experience with version control systems, such as Git and Continuous Integration platforms.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Knowledge of Cryptography and Security.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with C or C++ language.
Experience with third-party libraries and APIs.
Knowledge of Digital and Physical Documents standards.
Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
