Job description

Business Unit: EPSMobility

Role: Algorithm Developer - ADAS

The Algorithm Developer – ADAS is responsible for developing, optimizing, and validating ADAS algorithms for embedded real-time controllers used in automotive (e.g., lane change assist, adaptive cruise control etc.). You will lead the development of ADAS algorithms, ensuring high-performance, safety-compliant, and scalable solutions for traction and auxiliary motor systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and develop the end-to-end algorithmic architecture for ADAS functions such as Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Lane Keeping Assist (LKA), Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) etc.
  • Decompose system-level ADAS functions into modular algorithm components: perception, fusion, prediction, planning and control.
  • Design sensor fusion frameworks (camera, radar, ultrasonic, IMU, GNSS) for accurate environment modeling and object tracking.
  • Architect algorithms for multi-sensor object detection, classification, and tracking, leveraging both traditional signal processing and AI/ML methods.
  • Define the software and hardware architecture interfaces to support real-time execution of algorithms on ECUs, GPUs, and embedded processors.
  • Optimize algorithms for embedded performance, latency, and memory efficiency while maintaining high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with system architects, software engineers, and data scientists to ensure seamless integration and deployment.
  • Conduct algorithm performance evaluations using simulation, SIL/HIL, and on-vehicle validation.
  • Contribute to functional safety (ISO 26262) and SOTIF (ISO 21448) compliance from an algorithmic perspective.
  • Maintain awareness of latest research and technologies in ADAS, perception, and AI for automotive applications.
  • Mentor and guide algorithm engineers in technical design, modeling, and validation best practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Robotics or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in ADAS / Autonomous Driving algorithm development or similar domains.
  • Deep understanding of sensor processing, computer vision, sensor fusion, path planning, and vehicle control algorithms.
  • Strong experience with C/C++, Python, and MATLAB/Simulink for algorithm design and validation.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML frameworks and embedded AI deployment (CNN & latest technologies).
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS) and AUTOSAR Classic/Adaptive environments.
  • Solid understanding of vehicle dynamics, control theory, and state estimation techniques (Kalman Filters, Particle Filters, etc.).
  • Experience with HIL/SIL validation, simulation tools (e.g. CarMaker) and data replay systems.
  • Working knowledge of Functional Safety (ISO 26262) and SOTIF concepts.
  • Strong grasp of vehicle communication protocols (CAN, LIN, Ethernet) and ECU architecture.
  • Familiarity with AI-based perception pipelines (CNNs, RNNs, transformer-based architectures) for object detection and tracking.
  • Knowledge of sensor calibration, time synchronization, and data fusion frameworks (ROS/ROS2, ADTF, RTMaps).
  • Experience with GPU/SoC-based acceleration (NVIDIA, Qualcomm, TI etc.).
  • Exposure to cybersecurity and over-the-air (OTA) update strategies.
  • Contributions to research papers or patents in the ADAS/autonomous driving field.
  • Strong analytical and abstract thinking capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Leadership and mentoring ability for algorithm development teams.
  • Passion for innovation in intelligent mobility and autonomous systems.
