About the role


The Service Business Engineer acts as the bridge between technical service delivery and commercial strategy. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing service offerings that drive customer value and business growth. It combines technical expertise with business acumen to ensure service solutions are profitable, scalable, and aligned with customer needs.



Responsibilities
  • Service Contract Management


    • Analysis of existing service contracts to support service growth
    • Coordinate service contracts amendments 
    • Develop customized contract offerings that strengthen customer loyalty.
    • Prepare offers for service projects and complex contracts.
  • Installed Base Management & Upgrades


    • Identify and localize the current installed base of products (FGFD and other product groups as specified).
    • Maintain and update installed base data.
    • Plan and coordinate upgrades for existing customer installations.
  • Customer Acquisition & Consulting


    • Find, approach, and engage new customers to propose appropriate service solutions.
    • Advise customers on service options and added value.
  • Collaboration with Sales


    • Actively work with Sales to support quoting or pre-quoting maintenance during the quotation phase of FGFD projects.
    • When relevant, calculate and issue standard or semi-complex quotes.
    • Assist in developing proposals for service projects and complex contracts.

Qualifications

Required


  • Completed commercial or technical education or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience in service operations, ideally in contract management (SLA) and/or installed base management.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and ERP systems (e.g., SAP).
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and problem-solving ability.
  • Understanding of service processes and lifecycle management.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and translate it into actionable recommendations. 
  • Team player with intercultural competence.

Preferred


  • Experience in digital service solutions (IoT, remote monitoring, predictive maintenance).
