Job description
Role Description (Discipline General)
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the specification, technical evaluation, and design assurance of all static and rotating equipment within the processing areas of refinery, renewable fuel production facilities, and petrochemicals related to investment project execution. The Engineer's involvement starts from the study phase where they are responsible for translating the process requirements into preliminary equipment datasheets and establishing the Basis of Design for all major machinery and vessels. The initial equipment list and preliminary specifications, prepared in the definition phase, will set the foundation for subsequent procurement and detailed design activities. In the definition phase, the Mechanical engineer focuses on finalizing the equipment specifications, ensuring full compliance with international standards (e.g., ASME, API) and project safety requirements, and establishing vendor scopes of supply. The procurement process for critical, long-lead equipment takes place in the definition phase and continues with detailed design review in the execution phase. Mechanical Engineer prepares relevant Material Requisitions (MRs), technical bid evaluations, and all engineering documentation related to vendor data review, including pressure vessel calculations, vibration analysis, and mechanical seals specifications.
Description of tasks (Discipline General)
• Study/Concept: Preliminary calculations, dimensioning and simulations • Definition/Basic: Thermal dimensioning, preparation of Mechanical data sheets, Material Requisitions (MR´s), Technical bid analysis (TBE), Participation in 30% model reviews • Execution/Detailed: Material Requistions (MR´s), Mechanical data sheets, Purchase negotiations, Technical Bid Evaluation (TBE), Commenting vendor documentation, Expediting, Job definitions for equipment modifications, design reviews, as-builts and data handover
