In this role, you’ll help build and evangelize Procore’s next-generation construction compute platform for others to build upon, including Procore developers, analysts, partners, and customers.

As a Staff Site Reliability Engineer, you’ll partner with other engineers and product managers across Product & Technology to develop and maintain compute platform capabilities that enable SaaS based products to operate in a secure and  compliant environment. A core part of this role is focusing on internal developer enablement, ensuring a seamless platform experience, and evangelizing platform features and best practices. To be successful in this role, you’re passionate about distributed systems on the cloud with experience in operating and maintaining cloud based products at-scale. If you’re an engineer comfortable and excited about building our next-generation platform and translating problems into pragmatic solutions that open up the boundaries of technical possibilities—we’d love to hear from you!

This position reports to the Engineering Manager for Infrastructure Platform and will be based in our Cairo office. We’re looking for someone to join us immediately.

What you’ll do:

  • AI is central to how we work. You’ll be expected to master generative tools and agentic workflows, moving beyond just using AI to actively building the agentic future of construction.

  • Lead in the design and implementation of our next-generation platform for the construction industry, primarily focused on building and supporting distributed systems, internal developer experience, and ease of adoption.

  • Act as a platform evangelist, creating documentation, leading training sessions, and sharing best practices to enable internal engineering teams to utilize platform features effectively.

  • Drive and support the engineering team in all phases of the software development lifecycle, ensuring platform stability, observability, and compliance.

  • Help identify and propose solutions for technical gaps in our platform by running proof of concepts and experiments, with a keen eye on the latest advancements in the Kubernetes ecosystem.

  • Work alongside our Product, UX, and IT teams, leveraging your expertise to influence our product roadmap and deliver innovative solutions that enhance developer productivity.

  • Stay up to date with the latest platform and Kubernetes technology trends, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate.

What we’re looking for:

  • 4+ years of experience maintaining application services in kubernetes clusters.

  • Experience provisioning and operating cloud native tools at scale.

  • 3+ years of experience as a CKD.

  • 6+ years of experience operating cloud-based, highly available, distributed, and scalable systems with large amounts of data.

  • Experience and proficiency in composing and maintaining kubernetes manifests, such as Helm and Kustomize.

  • Experience and proficiency in managing infrastructure as code, such as Terraform.

  • Experience in advising development and customized automation for CI/CD pipelines and building container images.

  • Experience with AWS (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM etc.)

  • Proven ability to lead technical enablement initiatives, mentor engineers, and drive the adoption of new platform features.
