Senior Technical Designer

echnical Planning and Documentation: ● Collaborate with design teams to develop detailed technical plans, drawings, blueprints, and specifications for construction and implementation.
● Ensure that technical documentation aligns with design concepts, adheres to industry standards, and meets regulatory requirements.
● coordinating between project’s different stakeholders assuring the quality and applicability of technical requirements Material and Equipment Selection: ● Research, source, and recommend materials, finishes, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment that align with design intent, quality standards, and budget constraints.
● Stay updated on new materials and technologies relevant to the industry.
Technical Detail Development: ● Develop detailed technical specifications, including materials, dimensions, construction methods, and installation instructions.
● Ensure that technical details are accurate and support the design concept ● Prepare comprehensive Bill of Quantities (BOQs) aligned with design specifications and assess priced BOQs from contractors for accuracy and compliance, ensuring alignment with design requirements.
● Review invoices from a design perspective, ensuring design-related components are accurately billed, and provide design-specific insights for cost analysis and reporting, contributing to financial accuracy within projects.
Quality Control: ● Implement quality control processes to ensure that construction and installation align with technical plans and design intent.
● Conduct regular site inspections to identify and address discrepancies.
● Collaborate with designers to review and approve workshop drawings, ensuring alignment with design specifications, technical accuracy for seamless implementation within projects.
Third Parties Coordination: ● Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to procure materials and services.
● Negotiate contracts, obtain quotes, and ensure adherence to specifications and timelines.
● Review and provide timely, comprehensive responses to Requests for Information (RFIs) received from site engineers, addressing technical queries, providing necessary clarifications, and ensuring accurate guidance for smooth project execution.
Budget Adherence: ● Work in collaboration with project managers to ensure that technical aspects of projects adhere to allocated budgets.
● Identify cost-effective solutions without compromising design quality.
Documentation Organization: ● Maintain an organized repository of technical documentation, including revisions, for reference and future projects.
Site Inspections and Project Coordination: ● Conduct regular site visits and inspections to verify that the implementation of designs aligns with the intended design specifications, ensuring adherence to technical requirements, quality standards, and design intent.
● Work closely with contractors on-site to identify and troubleshoot technical issues or challenges, providing expert guidance and solutions to ensure smooth execution and resolution of problems encountered during the construction phase.
1. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
2. Proven experience 5 years minimum as a Technical Designer with a portfolio showcasing successful projects in relevant projects / studios 3.
Proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, Indesign, MS office programs.
SketchUp,Revit and 3D rendering tools are plus.
4. Strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
5. Effective communication and collaboration skills.
6. Knowledge of construction methods, materials, building codes, and industry regulations.
7. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Familiarity with health and safety practices in the design and construction industry.
Working Conditions ● Working hours: from Sunday to Thursday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM ● Location: Zamalek - Cairo
