We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with strong Python expertise to design and operate scalable, production-grade systems. You’ll play a key role in shaping backend architecture, improving system reliability, and building services that handle real-world scale

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Product and other stakeholders to translate requirements into robust technical solutions
  • Maintain and improve existing systems, including refactoring and performance optimization
  • Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with common standards (e.g., OWASP)
  • Contribute to and enforce engineering standards, code quality, and best practices

Drive adoption of modern development workflows (CI/CD, testing, observability)

Participate actively in Agile processes

Qualifications:

  • 4–6+ years of experience in backend or full-stack development
  • Strong proficiency in Python for building production-grade applications
  • Experience with modern Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Django, or similar
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and exposure to NoSQL systems
  • Experience designing and operating messaging systems (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, Pub/Sub)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), ideally in production
  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
  • Strong understanding of performance optimization, scalability, and system reliability
  • Experience with Git-based workflows in collaborative environments

Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex systems

Strong communication skills in English

Nice to have:

  • Experience with Ruby on Rails or hybrid Python/Rails environments
  • Experience with observability tools (logging, tracing, metrics)
  • Knowledge of ML/AI workflows or data pipelines
  • Experience working in high-scale or data-intensive environments
