Safety Engineer

Job Purpose:

To ensure the safety of employees, equipment, and the work environment by developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety policies, risk assessments, and accident prevention programs. The Safety Engineer works to eliminate hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a safety-first culture across the organization or project site.

✅ Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct site inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments for construction, industrial, or operational activities.
• Develop and implement safety procedures, protocols, and emergency response plans.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA, local safety regulations, and company safety standards.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, analyze root causes, and recommend corrective/preventive actions.
• Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and training programs for employees and subcontractors.
• Maintain and update safety documentation, reports, and records (e.g., near misses, audits, permits).
• Coordinate with engineering and operations teams to ensure safe system design and operations.
• Supervise the use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and safe work practices at all times.
• Prepare HSE performance reports and present findings to management.
• Participate in project planning to ensure integration of safety from the design phase.
