Job Purpose The Packaging Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily packaging operations to ensure products are packed efficiently, safely, and in line with quality standards and production targets.
Key Responsibilities Lead procurement activities for raw materials and packaging materials.
Ensure timely purchasing and delivery of materials according to production plans and business needs.
Monitor procurement schedules and supplier lead times.
Prevent supply disruptions and material shortages.
Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
Conduct supplier negotiations to achieve best prices, payment terms, quality, and delivery conditions.
Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and corrective action plans.
Build strategic supplier relationships for long-term business continuity.
Analyze market trends, pricing fluctuations, and procurement risks.
Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or supply continuity.
Support budgeting and procurement forecasting activities.
Optimize procurement processes and purchasing efficiency.
Review and manage supplier contracts and agreements.
Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
Coordinate with legal and finance departments regarding contractual obligations.
Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
Coordinate with planning and warehouse teams to maintain optimal inventory levels.
Support inventory control to avoid overstocking, shortages, and obsolete materials.
Participate in demand planning and material forecasting.
Coordinate with QA/QC regarding supplier quality performance and material specifications.
Handle supplier non-conformance issues and corrective actions.
Ensure purchased materials meet approved specifications and standards.
Lead and supervise procurement officers and buyers.
Set objectives, KPIs, and performance evaluations for the procurement team.
Coach and develop team members.
Ensure efficient workload distribution and process improvement.
Prepare procurement reports, spend analysis, and supplier performance reports.
Track procurement KPIs and purchasing efficiency metrics.
Provide management with market insights and procurement recommendations.
