Job description

Company Description

Mavericks purpose is empowering children to make an impact on the world. According to the Oxford Dictionary, a maverick is an “unorthodox or an independent-minded person”, and this is precisely why we chose that name for our schools; we want to cultivate a generation of independent-minded, unorthodox thinkers and doers whose creative endeavors leave a mark on the world.

At Mavericks, we believe in supporting teachers, so that they may become the best version of themselves. Mavericks’ Professional Development program is a full year experience, with extensive workshops in the summer and follow-up in the fall, winter, and spring terms.

Mavericks believes in investing further in its Education team so that every Mavericks’ teacher may benefit from in-depth mentor ship.

Mavericks School seeks teachers who espouse our core values of passion, ownership, growth, and empathy to join our progressive learning environment.

Passion: you’re the kind of person who genuinely loves what you do. Helping kids learn and grow makes you tick.

Ownership: you’re a self-starter. You’re not waiting around for someone to tell you what to do. You find solutions and have the highest standards of integrity.

Growth: the one thing you know is that you don’t know it all. You enjoy the opportunity to learn from fellow teachers, leadership, and especially the students themselves.

Empathy: you work well in a team environment because you genuinely care about others.

If you find yourself saying (in regards to these core values) “That’s me!” Then we want to meet you. The best candidates for a Mavericks teaching position will also have:

Qualifications
  • At least 2 years teaching or co-teaching experience, preferably in a progressive learning environment.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (required for all positions, except Arabic staff, whereby good English comprehension skills are required)

Additional Information
  • A competitive salary
  • Social Insurance
  • Medical Insurance

Start Date: August, 2019
