Job Purpose: The Licenses Specialist in Mining will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements related to mining licenses and permits for a notable regulatory authority in KSA.
This position involves managing the licensing application process reviewing all the applications.
This includes assessing the mine conditions and providing them with a way forward for the license.
The specialist will work closely stakeholders to support the sustainable and responsible development of mining projects.
Key Responsibilities: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations regarding mining operations and environmental standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather necessary documentation and information for license applications if needed.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mining laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
Conduct audits and assessments to ensure compliance with licensing conditions and reporting requirements.
Respond to inquiries and provide support to internal teams regarding licensing issues or changes in regulations.
Facilitate communication with regulatory authorities on behalf of the company.
Compile and maintain accurate records of all licenses reviewed, applications pending, and compliance activities.
Qualifications: At least a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, geology, environmental science, or a related field.
Years of Experience: 5–15 years of experience in mining licenses management or regulatory compliance within the mining sector.
Skills Required: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess licensing requirements and navigate regulatory processes.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with regulatory authorities and internal teams (English and Arabic).
Ability to prepare detailed reports and documentation related to licensing and compliance.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and knowledge of regulatory management software.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications: A detailed understanding of local, state, and federal mining regulations and policies.
Experience working with mining KSA or neighboring countries.
Familiarity with environmental impact assessments (EIAs) in the context of mining projects.
Previous work with mining licenses particularly in reviewing licenses.
