About the job Junior Marine Engineer Job Purpose:

This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career marine engineer eager to gain hands-on experience supporting vessel operations from shore. It plays a key role in monitoring technical issues for vessels alongside, managing the Planned Maintenance System (PMS), and ensuring all vessel certifications are up to date and compliant with international standards.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Monitor and follow up on technical issues for vessels while alongside or in port.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) in coordination with onboard engineers.
  • Maintain and update vessel certification records, ensuring timely renewals and regulatory compliance.
  • Liaise with classification societies, flag state authorities, and service providers for inspections, audits, and surveys.
  • Assist in preparing technical reports, maintenance logs, and defect tracking documentation.
  • Coordinate with all concerned teams for spare parts and service arrangements.
  • Participate in dry-docking preparations and repair planning as needed.
  • Ensure all technical documentation is accurately maintained and archived.

Qualifications: 


  • Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or equivalent.
  • 2 - 3 years of experience in a marine engineering role (shipboard or shore-based).
  • Familiarity with PMS software and vessel certification processes.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and technical documentation.
  • Experience with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, and classification society standards is a plus. 
  • Exposure to container vessel operations is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel or relocate based on operational requirements.
