They leverage the Google Ad Grant program as a critical growth channel, utilizing up to $40,000 per month in ad credits to drive awareness, engagement, and conversions aligned with their nonprofit mission. The organization operates with a strong emphasis on compliance, performance, and accountability, ensuring that all campaigns remain effective, policy-aligned, and optimized for continuous growth.

Role Overview

The Google Ad Grant Manager will be responsible for managing the organization’s Google Ad Grant account end to end, ensuring it remains active, compliant, and high-performing at all times. This role is focused on maintaining strict adherence to program policies while optimizing campaigns to fully utilize available ad credits and drive meaningful results.


Key Responsibilities

Compliance Management


  • Maintain compliance with all active Google Ad Grant policies, including the 5% account-wide CTR requirement, conversion tracking, keyword quality standards, and website requirements


  • Ensure no violations such as low-quality keywords, improper domains, or non-compliant landing pages


  • Monitor account health continuously to prevent suspension risks


Active Account Management


  • Log into the account daily to monitor performance and compliance


  • Perform meaningful optimizations (new ads, keyword updates, bid adjustments) at least every 7 days


Keyword Management


  • Build and maintain multi-word keyword lists aligned with the organization’s mission


  • Remove or prevent single-word, overly generic, or low-quality keywords


Campaign Structure & Optimization


  • Maintain at least two ad groups per campaign and two ads per ad group


  • Configure sitelink extensions and other ad assets to meet policy minimums and improve performance


Conversion Tracking


  • Set up and maintain at least one active conversion action (e.g., donations, sign-ups, volunteer inquiries)


  • Ensure verified conversions are recorded at least every 10 days


  • Utilize smart bidding strategies as required


Website & Domain Compliance


  • Coordinate with the web team to ensure the website meets requirements (HTTPS, fast loading speed, no broken links, updated content)


  • Ensure all ad destinations use approved, organization-owned domains


  • Obtain Google approval for any additional domains


Program Maintenance


  • Complete the required annual Google Ad Grant program survey


  • Ensure no AdSense ads appear on landing pages receiving grant traffic


  • Maintain alignment between campaigns and the organization’s nonprofit mission


Reporting


  • Provide weekly performance reports covering CTR, conversions, spend utilization, and compliance status


Qualifications

Experience


  • Demonstrated experience managing Google Ads accounts, ideally including Google Ad Grant accounts


Skills


  • Google Ads certification preferred (Search or equivalent)


  • Familiarity with Google Analytics 4 and conversion tracking setup


  • Strong understanding of keyword research, quality scores, and search intent


  • Ability to write concise, mission-aligned ad copy


  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to monitor and maintain compliance requirements


  • Analytical mindset with the ability to track performance and optimize campaigns


  • Organized and consistent in managing ongoing account activity


  • Passion for the organization’s mission and ability to translate programs into effective search campaigns
