Job Purpose: To oversee the General Ledger (GL) function and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.
The GL Supervisor will lead the GL team in managing month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial analysis, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
Key Responsibilities: Supervise daily operations of the GL team, ensuring timely and accurate posting of transactions.
Oversee the month-end closing process, ensuring all financial entries are recorded, reconciled, and closed in accordance with the timeline.
Review and verify journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reports.
Monitor the integrity of financial data and ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulations.
Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Coordinate with internal and external auditors during audits and provide necessary documentation.
Provide support to finance and operations teams regarding GL inquiries and issues.
Train, mentor, and develop GL staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high performance.
Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency of the GL functions.
Assist in the development of accounting policies and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred qualified bachelor’s degree or professional diploma such CPA, CA, UKCA Preferred experience in auditing 7 years+ of experience in accounting and financial statements Strong knowledge of general accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
Proficient in accounting software (e.
g., Oracle, SAP), along with MS Office applications.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
