Job description

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, 80,000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time EHS Supervisor in Cairo we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety expertise in a dynamic and innovative field. You’ll work alongside passionate and collaborative teammates.

You'll play a key role in fostering a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within our projects. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (engineering, operations, and project management), support the development and implementation of EHS plans, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of ensuring compliance with EHS standards and regulations, but also support the creation of a proactive EHS culture across the project team.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Supporting the Project EHS Manager on all EHS-related topics

  • Cooperating with internal resources to achieve EHS objectives

  • Preparing, implementing, and maintaining emergency plans

  • Coordinating and controlling activities with respect to EHS, especially in interface areas

  • Recognizing and promoting best practices while addressing any violations of EHS regulations or Alstom standards

  • Raising awareness among project personnel on EHS aspects and providing necessary support

  • Developing and maintaining the Project EHS Management System

  • Ensuring compliance with international standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

  • Performing EHS risk assessments and defining measures to control risks

  • Assisting in the implementation of EHS training programs and conducting inductions and toolbox meetings

  • Capturing, investigating, and analyzing incidents to implement corrective and preventive actions

  • Preparing monthly EHS reports and supporting reporting systems

  • Conducting inspections and audits to ensure compliance and identify areas for improvement

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, Safety, or a related field

  • Experience or understanding of EHS management systems and practices

  • Knowledge of international EHS standards such as ISO 14001 and ISO 45001

  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies and tools

  • A certification in EHS (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a plus

  • Strong communication and training skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams

Things you’ll enjoy

Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with new safety and environmental standards for rail projects

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects that have a real impact on sustainability

  • Utilise our flexible and inclusive working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards leadership roles or advanced EHS specializations

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
