Job Summary
Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the full financial operations of the company,
including accounting, financial reporting, and operational financial control across purchasing
and warehouse functions.
This role acts as a key link between finance and operations, ensuring financial discipline, cost
efficiency, and accurate inventory and purchasing control, while supporting the CFO in strategic
and operational decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting & Accounting Oversight
Supervise full accounting cycle (GL, AP, AR, Inventory, Banks)
Ensure timely monthly closing and accurate financial statements
Review financial reports and provide variance analysis
Support CFO with financial insights and board-level reporting
2. Operational Financial Control (Core Role)
Act as financial controller over Purchasing and Warehouse departments
Ensure proper financial flow across:
o Purchase Requests Approvals Procurement Inventory Accounting
Monitor adherence to budgets and cost controls across operations
3. Purchasing Control & Cost Optimization
Review and validate purchase requests financially
Ensure RFQ and vendor comparison processes are properly followed
Monitor price variances and supplier performance
Support negotiation strategies through cost analysis
Align purchasing decisions with financial plans and cash flow
4. Inventory & Warehouse Financial Oversight
Ensure accurate inventory valuation and recording
Monitor stock movement and reconciliation
Review inventory KPIs:
o Stock accuracy
o Shrinkage
o Slow-moving items
Ensure proper cost allocation (materials, production, overhead)
5. Costing & Profitability Management
Analyze COGS structure and cost drivers
Evaluate product profitability (local vs global / manufacturing vs outsourcing)
Support pricing strategy with data-driven insights
Identify cost-saving opportunities
6. Cash Flow & Treasury Support
Monitor cash flow and working capital
Coordinate with CFO on liquidity planning
Oversee bank reconciliations and payment cycles
7. Team Leadership
Lead accounting team and supervise daily operations
Ensure clear task ownership and performance tracking
Train and develop team members
Coordinate with purchasing and warehouse leaders

- Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting / Finance
6-9 years of experience
Strong experience in accounting + operations control
