This role is open to candidates based in LATAM, Africa, and Eastern Europe. Please note that as this role supports U.S.-based clients, candidates must be available to work during U.S. business hours aligned with the client’s time zone.


Our client is building a modern distribution platform designed to help emerging spirits brands enter and grow in the California market. They partner with independent distillers and brand owners by providing distribution, logistics, and sales support across the state. As an early-stage and fast-growing company, they are focused on expanding their supplier network and building strong partnerships that drive long-term growth.

Role Overview

The Business Development Representative will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and acquiring new supplier partners within the spirits industry. This role is highly focused on outbound prospecting, relationship-building, and closing new partnerships, working directly with company leadership to expand the supplier network and drive business growth.


Key Responsibilities

Supplier Prospecting


  • Identify emerging spirits brands that could benefit from the company’s services


  • Research new distilleries, brand launches, and suppliers entering the California market


  • Build and maintain a pipeline of potential supplier partners


Outbound Business Development


  • Conduct outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and industry networks


  • Introduce prospective suppliers to the company’s distribution platform and services


  • Qualify potential partners and manage early-stage sales conversations


Supplier Acquisition


  • Present the company’s model to brand founders and teams


  • Convert qualified prospects into signed supplier partners


  • Ensure supplier agreements are executed and key onboarding information is collected


Client Success Handoff


  • Transition signed supplier accounts to the Director of Client Success for onboarding and execution


  • Ensure a smooth handoff with all required information for successful onboarding


Industry Awareness


  • Monitor trends and emerging brands within the spirits industry


  • Attend industry events, tastings, and conferences when possible


  • Continuously identify new partnership opportunities


Qualifications

Experience


  • 2–4 years of sales experience, preferably in business development or outbound sales roles


  • Experience selling into the beverage alcohol industry (preferred)


  • Familiarity with the three-tier distribution system and supplier-distributor relationships (preferred)


Skills


  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building skills


  • Ability to initiate conversations and engage new contacts confidently


  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously


  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate independently


  • Competitive and results-driven approach to sales


  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
