Mac for Mobility Manufacturing (MMM) is a new, state-of-the-art automotive plant in New 6th of October City, specializing in the production of vehicles via the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) process.
We are committed to excellence, safety, and building high-quality vehicles for our customers. Our operational excellence is built on two non-negotiable foundations: People Safety and Built-In Quality.
Our core principle governs everything we do:
Don't Build, Ship, or Sell a Defect.
Position Summary:
The Body Shop Manager leads in a high-risk, high-precision environment. You are accountable for the "Don't Build, Ship, or Sell a Defect" principle in the Body-in-White shop.
You will demonstrate that strict adherence to safety protocols is what makes a predictable, high-quality process possible, ensuring no dimensional or welding defect is built in Body Shop, passed to Paint, or ultimately reaches the customer.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety (Our Foundation):
Enforce a strict safety culture in a high-risk environment involving robotics, high-voltage equipment, and welding operations. Ensure full compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), and robotic safety standards.
Enforce a zero-tolerance policy for bypassing safety controls on robotics and welding equipment. Process integrity depends on it.
Partner with the Safety & Environmental team to manage risks associated with fumes, sparks, and high-pressure systems.
People (Our assets):
Lead, train, and mentor a team of supervisors, weld technicians, and robot operators.
Build a team capable of performing complex troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Develop a technical team that understands that controlling energy sources (safety) is as critical as controlling weld parameters (quality).
Quality (Our Promise):
Absolute owner of "Don't BUILD a Defect" in Body Shop through real-time CMM monitoring, weld validation, dimensional control, and error-proofing.
Ensure "Don't SHIP a Defect from Body Shop" to the Paint Shop by maintaining rigorous quality gates and inspection standards for every body structure.
Support "Don't SELL a Defect" by ensuring body structure quality and integrity prevent any customer-facing issues related to vehicle structure, noise, or durability.
Oversight of in-line CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) data and welding non-destructive testing to ensure compliance.
Work directly with the Quality team and ME team to resolve dimensional variation, welding defects, and equipment capability issues.
Productivity:
Achieve the daily production schedule for the Body Shop, managing the line to achieve takt time.
Maximize equipment uptime and availability by working closely with the Maintenance team.
Drive efficiency in the framing, welding, and metal finish processes.
Cost:
Manage the Body Shop budget, controlling costs for utilities (electricity, gas), welding consumables, and tooling.
Optimize consumable usage (welding wire, gas) and reduce scrap/rework to minimize cost.
Environment:
Ensure proper collection and disposal of welding fumes, swarf, and other industrial wastes in accordance with environmental regulations.
Manage the efficiency of energy-intensive equipment like robotic weld guns and ventilation systems.
Qualifications & Experience:
Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Welding) or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in an automotive Body Shop, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong technical knowledge of spot welding, bonding technologies, and geometric dimensioning (GD&T) is essential.
Experience with CKD body assembly processes (working with pre-formed sub-assemblies) is a significant advantage.
Proficiency in reading CAD data and interpreting CMM reports to drive dimensional improvements.
A strong understanding of maintenance and reliability principles for automated equipment.
