SAWACO Water Desalination—the flagship of SBCG’s water sector—is a pioneering private water utility established in 2000 to address the critical shortage of potable water in Saudi Arabia. Headquartered in Jeddah, SAWACO became the Kingdom’s first commercial water producer licensed by the Ministry of Water and Agriculture, well before the IWPP and PPP initiatives. Today, it stands as a leader in sustainable desalination and water solutions across the Middle East and North Africa.

With a production capacity exceeding 40,000 m³/day, and an additional 20,000 m³/day under development, SAWACO ensures reliable, uninterrupted water supply to residential, commercial, and industrial clients in Jeddah and beyond. The company’s state-of-the-art facilities in North, Central, and South Jeddah utilize advanced technologies to produce water that meets or exceeds international standards including WHO, SASO, FDA, ISO, OHSAS, and HACCP.

Proudly known as “The Water Designer,” SAWACO customizes water solutions for diverse sectors such as healthcare, food and beverage, hospitality, agriculture, and real estate. Its services extend to BOO/BOT project models, providing flexible and efficient water solutions for public and private clients. SAWACO’s stainless-steel tanker fleet ensures safe delivery, adhering to strict hygiene protocols and HACCP compliance.
