We’ll look to you for:

  • Performing regular efficiency (safety) testing of employees in the work group and identifying and correcting off-standard or at-risk conditions

  • Leading a safe work group by promoting and enforcing Alstom's best safety practices, including quality execution of job briefings, risk assessments, risk mitigation, employee engagement, empowerment, and root cause analysis problem-solving

  • Reviewing workloads and assigning appropriate staff to complete repairs, maintenance inspections, and special projects in a timely fashion

  • Planning work schedules and assignments to ensure equipment is maintained within required maintenance guidelines and federal inspection intervals

  • Monitoring equipment performance and the condition of repairs by auditing staff and completed tasks

All about you

  • Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field

  • Experience or understanding of railway operations, locomotive maintenance, and repair processes

  • Knowledge of safety compliance standards, quality control practices, and process optimization

  • Familiarity with Electronic Asset Management (EAM) systems such as Trapeze and timekeeping systems like Kronos

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software for data analysis and reporting

  • Ability to lead and motivate a diverse team of employees

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Resilience and adaptability to work in dynamic shop environments and meet operational deadlines

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

  • Enjoy stability, challenges, and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

  • Work with approximately 20+ employees of varying crafts and 55–60 locomotives of varying models

  • Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

  • Contribute to innovative projects

  • Utilise our safety-focused, inclusive, and innovative working environment

  • Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

  • Benefit from our investment in your development, through award-winning learning

  • Progress towards optimizing daily operations, quality control, and process development in alignment with Alstom’s best practices

  • Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

Compensation $107k - 130k

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
