We deploy experienced quality professionals across the United States and in over 90 countries to support client and supplier sites on demand.

SQA Services is seeking an Electronic Source Inspector to perform on-site inspections at supplier locations. This role supports part-time or full-time contract work, depending on availability and project needs.

The inspector will perform source inspections on electronic components and assemblies, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform source inspections at supplier facilities for electronic components, assemblies, and PCBs
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections, including witness inspections when required
  • Verify compliance to engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
  • Inspect electronic assemblies, including wiring, soldering, connectors, and PCB workmanship
  • Review inspection documentation, including Certificates of Conformance (CoCs), test reports, and inspection records
  • Identify and document nonconformances and communicate findings clearly
  • Verify workmanship, cleanliness (FOD), and overall product condition
  • Ensure proper packaging, preservation, and shipping documentation

Required Qualifications

  • Experience performing electronic or electromechanical inspections in a manufacturing or aerospace environment
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and wiring diagrams
  • Knowledge of electronic assembly inspection standards (e.g., soldering, wiring, PCB inspection)
  • Experience using basic inspection tools and equipment
  • Ability to work independently at supplier sites
  • Strong attention to detail and communication skills
  • U.S. Citizen or U.S. Permanent Resident (ITAR required)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with IPC standards (IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-620)
  • Aerospace or defense manufacturing background
  • Experience supporting source inspections or supplier quality activities
  • Familiarity with FAI, CoCs, and inspection documentation
