Job Duties
  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
  • Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
  • Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
  • Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solves complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
  • Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
  • Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
  • Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
  • Work close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).


Qualifications
  • Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • Advanced English is a requirement.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • 5 years of experience in R&D.
  • Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
  • Solid foundational knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit design, including the ability to interpret schematics and use standard laboratory equipment (oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, function generators, power supplies, etc.) to troubleshooting communication electronics boards/systems.
  • Hands-on experience with fundamental electronic building blocks (e.g., DC-DC converters, operational amplifiers, ADCs/DACs, microcontrollers).
  • Advanced experience with design, simulation, development, compression, implementation, verification, and validation of communication systems/solutions.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with common interface protocols, such as I2C, SPI, RS485, RS232, CAN, USB, etc.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience with common industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, CANopen, MQTT, EtherNet/IP.
  • Experience generating PoCs to de-risk concepts, validate technologies, and support technical decision-making in early-stage R&D for complex projects.
