Career Talk Episode 32: How to Better Engage with Your Network

engage with your network

We constantly hear about the importance of networking and connecting with other professionals. We are also frequently told that a strong network will add a lot of value to our career endeavors and job seeking activities.

But what we might overlook is the fact that networking isn’t just about numbers and connections. Networking isn’t a list of random contacts that you have in your inbox, nor is it a collection of profiles of people you hardly recognize on your social networking platforms.

Networking is about engagement, communication, and mutual benefit. It is equally about seizing opportunities and providing them. It is about teaching as much as it is about learning and growing. It is a give and take type of deal.

As a start, and in order for your network to be of real value, you must engage with it.

How do you do that?

Hatem Hannoun will tell you. Watch this week’s episode of Career Talk to find out all about engaging with your connections and making your network a great source of support and opportunities.

Watch below and let us know what you think.
