Career Talk Episode 11: Do NOT Follow Your Passion

Do what you love. Follow your dreams in life. We hear these words often and they resonate well with most of us. After all, nobody wants to be stuck in a job or a career path that they absolutely abhor as that is very likely to negatively influence their productivity and morale.

But one thing that we have to be careful of is knowing what we ‘love to do’ versus what we are ‘good at doing’. Especially for young job seekers and fresh graduates out there, doing what you love or what you are passionate about on full-time basis might not come as easily as you might think. You have to ensure that your skills and strength are, in fact, well-aligned with your passion and dream so that they support you to excel and grow in your career.

So, before you attempt to quit your job or pursue an opportunity that seems, right off the bat, to be everything you care about and love doing, watch this episode of Career Talk. Hatem Hannoun has a few more pieces of advice for you to ensure you go after your passion but also succeed and advance professionally.
