Bayt.com Survey: Future of Work in the MENA 2022

Many people are split on what the future might hold, especially when it comes to automation. How will automation and AI impact jobs? What skills are going to be in most demand? And how will hiring be affected?

Bayt.com has recently conducted the ‘Future of Work in the MENA’ survey to highlight the skills that are expected to be more important in 10 years, the most significant changes driven by technology and the future of job roles and job seeking.

Key Findings:

  • 82% of MENA professionals feel confident and excited about the future of work.
  • More than 7 in 10 respondents (72%) believe that technological factors are most likely to change the nature of work in the future.
  • 74% believe that the demand for software engineers is likely to increase over the next 10 years.
  • Technology/ computer skills (93%), creative thinking (90%) and time management (88%) are expected to be the most in-demand skills in the next 10 years.
  • 91% of recruiters agree that online job sites and professional platforms will be the most popular recruiting tools.

Data for the Future of Work in the MENA 2022 survey was collected online from May 18 to June 6, 2022. Results are based on a sample of 1,625 respondents from the following countries: UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Palestine, Syria, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Sudan, and others.
