The Bayt.com Career Aspirations in the Middle East and North Africa Survey - November 2013

Survey Highlights:

  • • Oil, gas & petrochemicals has emerged as the most preferred sector among the GCC and North African respondents. Interestingly, only5% of working respondents work in this sector.
  • • Almost half (46%) of the respondents rate their current job ‘poorly’ on fair evaluation.
  • • Under half (49%) of working respondents agree that their current job is perfect for them .
  • •63% of working respondents want a promotion, and almost half (46%) state that they want to be an expert in their field.

Respondents' profile: Data for the Bayt.com Career Aspirations in the Middle East and North Africa survey was collected online from22 October until5 November2013, with7,445 respondents from UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia.
