The Bayt.com Middle East Consumer Confidence Index - March 2014

Survey Highlights:

  • •29% of professionals believe that the number of jobs available will increase, whilst23% believe the number of available jobs will decrease.
  • •19% of professionals plan to invest in property within the next12 months, driven mostly by the GCC countries and Oman in particular.
  • •39% of professionals expect their financial position to improve.
  • •78% of professionals expect cost of living to increase in the next6 months. Those in Jordan exhibit the highest negative sentiment with93% expecting cost of living to increase.

Respondents' Profile: Professionals holding jobs in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, KSA, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco and elsewhere in the Middle East and North Africa at all career levels and across all industries were included in this Middle East HR Research Survey including professionals holding jobs in banking, financial services, IT, engineering, architecture, human resources, media, advertising, marketing, sales, government, consulting, publishing and other key employment sectors in the Middle East.
