The Bayt.com Entrepreneurship in the Middle East Survey 2015

The aim of this survey is to understand the sentiments of people towards entrepreneurs and entrepreneurship in the Middle East. How difficult is it set up a company in Egypt, for example? What exactly do you need if you want to start a business in Dubai? What are the main obstacles entrepreneurs have to deal with in Saudi Arabia? Are entrepreneurs in the Middle East getting the support they need? All these questions and more are answered in this survey.

Given a choice,64% of respondents would prefer to have their own business.

The top advice respondents would give to aspiring entrepreneurs would be to not be afraid of failure (38%).

Almost half of respondents (48%) do not have any preference when it comes to the best time to set up a business.

7 in10 respondents think that entrepreneurs are “profit-driven”.

97% of respondents know at least one successful entrepreneur in their country of residence.

Data for the Bayt.com ‘Entrepreneurship in the MENA2015’ survey was collected online from September27 to October42015, with8,164 respondents from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Algeria, Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
