So, what is an ethical leader? And what does it take to be one?
An ethical leader is both a moral person and moral manager. A moral person represents honesty, trust, integrity and caring about doing the right thing. A moral manager is a role model who does the right thing for the company, its stakeholders and employees. Moral managers always prioritize the employees’ and company’s best interest, by making fair and balanced decisions and always putting ethics over profit.
Bayt.com, in collaboration with the Canadian University Dubai (CUD), explored ethical leadership in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region. The study answers the following questions and more: How do MENA professionals define ethics? To what extent do professionals in the region perceive their immediate manager to be ethical? What kind of ethical leadership do managers exhibit towards their employees?
