The Bayt.com Top Industries Survey in the Middle East and North Africa

The goal of the Bayt.com Top Industries Survey in the Middle East and North Africa is to understand respondents’ opinion of their own industry and various other industry sectors. The survey aims to assess levels of satisfaction with current industry on attributes including salary and benefits, work-life balance, career growth, and job security and to identify which industries are perceived to perform best on numerous attributes including salary packages, working hours, and work-life balance.

Key Highlights:

  • Construction (10%), Manufacturing/ Engineering (9%) and IT/Electronics/Telecommunications (8%) are the top industries where respondents are currently working/worked most recently.
  • Approximately,1 in2 MENA residents are satisfied with the working hours, while they seem less satisfied with the salary packages.
  • Military/ Defence/ Police/ Security services (22%) followed by Construction (20%) emerge as the most stressful jobs.
  • The majority of respondents (62%) believe that the government is a favorable employer.
  • 1 in2 respondents consider an industry change in the next few months, while34% are not sure. Better salary (61%) is the top reason for considering an industry change.
  • Data for the Bayt.com ‘Top Industries in the Middle East and North Africa’ survey was conducted between November22 and December8,2015 with respondents from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
