The Bayt.com Top Industries in the Middle East and North Africa Survey

The Bayt.com Top Industries Survey provides eye-opening insights regarding the industries that are most favored to work in. For Job seekers, the findings provide them with more direction, as to which job attributes are valued the most and which fields of work are excelling in providing them. For employers, the survey findings can be very helpful in improving talent attraction and retention practices.

Survey Highlights:

  • Approximately, every3 in5 MENA residents are satisfied with the working hours, while less seem satisfied with the salary packages:41% claimed they are “somewhat satisfied” or “completely satisfied” with salary packages.
  • Government/ Civil service (27%), followed by Military/ Defense/ Police (26%), are reportedly the top industries when it comes to job security.
  • Banking/ Finance/ Accounting (16%) followed by Military/ Defense/ Police, Real Estate/ Construction/ Property development (15% each) and Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals (14%) emerge as the most stressful industries.
  • Education/ Academia (30%), followed by Healthcare/ Medical services (27%) and Banking/ Finance/ Accounting (24%) emerge as the industries which are the most attractive to females.
  • Banking/ Finance emerges as the top industry that attracts the highest proportion of fresh grads.
  • 47% of respondents are considering an industry change in the next few months.
  • Data for the Bayt.com ‘Top Industries in the Middle East and North Africa’ survey was collected online between February23 and March7,2017 with7,162 respondents from the UAE, KSA, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Tunisia.
