Professionals across the Middle East and North Africa take the New Year as an opportunity to look forward and make changes. Whether it is in their professional or personal lives, it is clear that there are already changes they would like to make and new goals they plan on achieving throughout the year. The Bayt.com ‘New Year’s Resolutions in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll seeks to bring light to the priorities and goals of job seekers and employees across the region. With data gained from the poll, the results answer a multitude of questions related to the personal and professional growth aspirations for the Middle East’s professionals and gives insight to the expectations and optimism a new year brings. Key Findings

82.5% of respondents plan to pursue a career change in2018.

More than four in five (83.9%) respondents say they are feeling ‘positive’ about2018.

The most important job attributes emerge as ‘career growth opportunities’ (61.7%).

Over nine in10 current job seekers say they ‘will find their ideal job’ this year.

56.1% of respondents say they mostly want to improve their friendships and relationships, while another quarter (25.3%) say they want to improve their finances and spending habits. Data for the2018 Bayt.com ‘New Year’s Resolutions in the Middle East and North Africa’ poll was collected online from3 December2017 to11 January2018. Results are based on a sample of8,849 respondents. Countries that participated include the UAE, Bahrain, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Oman, Tunisia, Qatar, KSA, Yemen, and others.
