Job description

Req ID:506386

At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Could you be the full-time EHS Officer in Charleroi, Belgium, we’re looking for?

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your environmental, health, and safety expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside a collaborative, proactive, and innovative team.

You'll play a key role in ensuring workplace safety and compliance with EHS standards, making a meaningful impact on the well-being of our teams and the efficiency of our operations. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (including engineering, operations, and service teams), conduct safety observations and inspections, and much more.

You’ll specifically take care of planning and executing Safety Observation Visits (SOVs), maintaining and improving EHS digital tools, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations, but also support internal and external audits and follow up on corrective actions.

We’ll look to you for:

  • Conducting and managing 100+ annual Safety Observation Visits (SOVs) and ensuring follow-up on identified actions
  • Supporting internal and external audits, including ISO compliance audits
  • Formalizing assessments and encoding data into EHS databases
  • Collaborating with internal teams to ensure EHS compliance during planned activities
  • Supervising and improving digital tools for EHS processes
  • Supporting tender offers and assisting in resolving EHS-related challenges
  • Developing and maintaining safety instruction materials
  • Coordinating and monitoring the annual EHS action plan (CCPT)
  • Supervising risk assessments and ensuring alignment with safety directives

All about you

We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

  • Degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Science, Health and Safety, Engineering, or similar)
  • Experience or understanding of safety observation visits (SOVs) and risk assessments
  • Knowledge of ISO14001 & ISO45001standards and audit processes
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in digital tools and a passion for improving digital processes
  • Ability to interpret and apply safety regulations and guidelines, including safety pictograms

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
