The demonstrator will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance in laboratory environments.
Your role will involve conducting experiments, tests, and analysis to support research and development, as well as assisting faculty, researchers, and students in various lab activities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare and deliver engaging, hands-on laboratory sessions.
Demonstrate civil engineering experiments, equipment use, and software applications.
Support students during experiments, assisting with procedures, troubleshooting, and data interpretation.
Ensure laboratory activities align with course learning outcomes and faculty expectations.
Oversee smooth daily operations of civil engineering laboratories, including scheduling and resource allocation.
Prepare experimental setups, materials, and instruments ahead of each session.
Maintain an organized, clean, and efficient laboratory environment.
Demonstrate the correct use of equipment, tools, and software related to civil engineering practices.
Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot testing machines for soil, concrete, aggregates, and asphalt.
Maintain accurate equipment logs, calibration records, and service documentation.
Coordinate procurement, installation, servicing, and upgrades of laboratory equipment and software.
Support in the procurement process, installation, servicing, and upgrades of laboratory equipment and software.
Identifying materials needs, and creating equipment lists/specifications.
Perform standard laboratory tests in accordance with ASTM, BS, and AASHTO methods.
Assist with surveying field and lab exercises such as instrument setup, leveling, traversing, coordinate measurements, field data collection, and data processing using surveying software.
Implement and enforce laboratory safety protocols, PPE usage, and emergency procedures.
Deliver safety briefings and training for students before lab activities to familiarize students with safety measures, emergency procedures, and proper handling of materials.
Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
Professional certification in a related field is desirable.
Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.
