About the Team:
Our Mobile Engineering teams build the core experiences that power how millions of learners study on Quizlet every day. From foundational study tools to AI-powered features, we focus on creating intuitive, performant, and high-quality mobile experiences across iOS and Android.
We partner closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver seamless, engaging learning experiences.
About the Role:
We’re hiring Mobile Engineers across multiple levels (Staff Mobile Engineer - Principal Mobile Engineer), with leveling determined through the interview process.
In this role, you’ll design, build, and ship mobile features that directly impact how learners engage with Quizlet. You’ll contribute to both new product development and improvements to existing systems, with a focus on performance, reliability, and user experience.
Success is measured by your ability to deliver high-quality mobile experiences and contribute to overall product velocity and quality.
We’re happy to share that this is an
onsite position in our San Francisco office. To help foster team collaboration, we require that employees be in the office a
minimum of three days per week: Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday and as needed by your manager or the company. We believe that this working environment facilitates increased work efficiency, team partnership, and supports growth as an employee and organization.
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain high-quality mobile applications across iOS and/or Android
- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering partners to define and deliver features
- Improve app performance, reliability, and overall user experience
- Contribute to architecture decisions and evolve mobile systems over time
- Drive code quality, testing, and engineering best practices
- Participate in debugging, incident response, and continuous improvement efforts
What you bring to the table:
- Experience building and shipping mobile applications (iOS and/or Android)
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills in mobile environments
- Proficiency in native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin/Java) and familiarity with cross-platform approaches
- Experience with performance optimization and scalable mobile architectures
- Ability to operate across ambiguity and drive projects end-to-end
- Strong collaboration and communication skills

Total compensation for this role is market competitive, including a starting base salary of $197,631- $259,390, depending on location and experience, as well as company stock options
