The Rig Manager leads the day-to-day management of rig operations and personnel, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant drilling activities. The role is responsible for supervising rig crews, maintaining operational readiness, and coordinating closely with drilling and maintenance teams to meet project objectives.
Manage daily rig operations, including drilling, maintenance, and safety compliance.
Supervise and lead rig personnel to ensure high levels of performance and safety awareness.
Coordinate rig mobilization, rig-up, and rig-down activities as required.
Enforce adherence to HSE policies, well control procedures, and industry standards.
Monitor rig equipment performance and oversee routine maintenance activities.
Liaise with drilling supervisors, engineers, and contractors for operational alignment.
Conduct regular safety meetings, inspections, and incident investigations.
Manage rig inventory and ensure availability of necessary tools and spare parts.
Report rig activities, incidents, and operational status accurately and timely.
Identify and resolve operational issues promptly, escalating critical matters as needed.
Strong knowledge of rig systems, drilling operations, and well control practices.
Effective leadership and team management skills.
Solid understanding of HSE requirements and safety culture enforcement.
Good communication and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.
ERP knowledge preferably SAP functional skills are a requirement to be successful in this role (this point to be available for all roles that have SAP access)
Minimum 8 years working experience, 5 years in a relevant supervisory position, 2 years GCC experience is a plus
