This role is for one of the Weekday's clients Salary range: Rs 2800000 - Rs 3900000 (ie INR 28-39 LPA) Min Experience: 6 years Location: India, UAE JobType: full-time We are looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to design and build scalable, high-performance systems that power modern applications.
This role focuses on developing robust backend architectures, enabling seamless data flow, and ensuring systems are optimized for speed, reliability, and scalability.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, frontend, QA, and DevOps to deliver efficient and maintainable solutions.
The role requires strong expertise in Java and system design, along with the ability to make critical architectural decisions and drive best practices across the development lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities Design and develop scalable backend systems and services using Java Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures Drive system design decisions, evaluating trade-offs between performance, scalability, and maintainability Optimize applications for high performance, reliability, and efficient resource usage Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver end-to-end product features Ensure high code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to best practices Handle production issues, implement monitoring solutions, and continuously improve system stability Contribute to CI/CD processes and streamline development workflows What Makes You a Great Fit 6–8 years of experience in backend development with strong expertise in Java Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and system design principles Experience with Spring Boot, Hibernate, and microservices architecture is a plus Strong knowledge of REST APIs and distributed systems Hands-on experience with SQL databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB) Understanding of multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning Familiarity with version control (Git) and build tools like Maven or Gradle Experience with CI/CD pipelines and modern development practices Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues Effective communication and collaboration skills
