SENIOR PIPING ENGINEER - SP MAT

As a Piping Material Engineer (SP Mat Specialist), you will be responsible for leading piping material management activities across offshore and onshore EPC projects using Smart Plant Materials (SP Mat). The role involves ensuring accurate material requisitioning, tracking, and data integrity throughout all phases of the project lifecycle.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage piping material engineering deliverables including material requisitions, specifications, and reports
• Administer and maintain the Smart Plant Materials (SP Mat) database for piping bulk commodities
• Prepare and process material requisitions (MRs) and purchase orders within SP Mat
• Maintain piping material specifications, tag registers, and commodity codes within the system
• Coordinate material workflows between engineering, procurement, expediting, and construction teams
• Generate material status reports and support procurement tracking and expediting activities
• Review and approve vendor material submittals, certifications, and compliance documents
• Support material receipt, inspection, storage, and warehouse coordination
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers on SP Mat systems and processes
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and alignment with project requirements and standards

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (master's preferred)
• 13+ years of experience in piping material engineering within offshore and onshore EPC projects
• Mandatory advanced proficiency in Smart Plant Materials (SP Mat)
• Strong knowledge of piping material standards and specifications (ASME, API, ASTM)
• Proven experience in material requisitioning, procurement support, and bulk material management
• Familiarity with EPC project lifecycle (engineering, procurement, construction phases)
• Experience in offshore oil & gas projects is an added advantage
• Strong organizational, reporting, and coordination skills
• Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
